Limp stills.

A couple of stills showing the puppet and partial set of my animateclay.com monthly challenge entry for May. The challenge theme was 'Limp'. I've had a few problems editing the final film, and as it's now middle of June, this short might never be seen. I just  thought I owe it to the poor doll to post her picture.

Extra lighting for photo purposes. The actual film is darker than this.
The doll was a nightmare to animate. Too tall, no tie-downs.

  1. Man she's hot I tell you, can't wait to see her on the screens. Really nice build!

  2. Ahaha! I hope she's not too hot or she'll melt! I can't take credit for making her though, I bought her at the £1 shop in a pretty floral dress (ugh!). But she has been drastically modified and sexed-up a bit. I have plans to make a Lara Croft style hottie from scratch in the near future.

  3. Whoaa... You "have" to show us some animated sequences with this character. She's very kewl and sexy ! That's very bad you couldn't do the monthly challenge but, since you got there, you should put some sequences even if it isn't complete. Great work as always.

  4. Awesome! Cool, hot little cyberchick! Hey, did you realize, that most of the short films Nick has posted online are either from StopMoShorts contests (before your time junior) or from Marc's Animateclay contests? And that he usually doesn't get them finished in time for the contest, but he uses the impetus of the deadline to get him started, and whenever he gets done (can be months later, or even years) then he posts the film anyway. So go for it... now that the deadline is past, you can afford to slow down and do things a little better if you want.

  5. Vincent* Limp doll says merci. I'll probably post up some animation this evening, though it's all a bit rough.

Strider* Cheers! I noticed a lot of what I've seen from Nick has been contest entries. Even L'animatuer - that's crazy impressive. If I were half as good as Nick, I might have the desire to finish and polish this piece. But I want to move on. Practice, practice, practice! I want to become a Jedi animator.

I'm currently working on June's challenge - 'Tie'.

  6. Really? I didn't think L'Animateur was for a contest... I thought that was an indie effort. Anyway though, I only brought it up cause I was afraid you were going to scrap this film now that the deadline is past. Just didn't want to see it all go to naught. I see now you've posted it... I need to go watch it. Cheers!

  7. Yeah, I posted the first 2 shots. Overall, it only runs for about 75 seconds. It's not precious enough to me to warrant fixing the flaws. I'd rather start a new project with knowledge to avoid them. I look more to the future than back at the past. Does that make sense? It's 3:30am :s
